Description

I made a very crude mockup showing Venus at different focus distances to demonstrate that the New Jersey bubble orbs from Facebook (https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/1haegy1/posted_on_drone_sighti…) are just out of focus.

Through my window, with a beige curtain (don't judge), I can see Venus. I pointed my Panasonic Lumix FZ-1000 (https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-fz1000) at it, at 400mm similar to that other photographer, and changed the focus. At near infinity, Venus is a bright dot. Anything closer, it becomes a translucent circle. If you zoom in, it has texture similar to the New Jersey photos, but this texture is from a dirty lens that hasn't been well-cared for. The curtain becomes more clear the larger the circle becomes - the more Venus is out of focus.
