On the afternoon of November 23, 1954, three young schoolgirls — Anne Storedal, Tora Storedal, and Tora Moy Hauge — walking home from school in Torpo, Norway, found themselves followed by a round, roughly 10-ft flying saucer, its underside black with yellow spots and small red jags, its upper section transparent.

The craft descended to within 3-4 ft of the girls, close enough for them to see a man inside, dressed in black trousers and a black jacket with large red goggles, seated at what looked like a control station and looking at one of them. The craft then rose, striking a high-tension power line and producing a shower of sparks, prompting the girls to flee.

They noticed a smell like fried sausages during the encounter, when investigators eventually visited the site, was a streak cut into the snow — a mark consistent, it seemed, with the craft’s surface having brushed against it during its low approach or departure.

Interesting description of the UAP by one of the girls:

"When the stone came down toward me it had a long, white tail behind, but when the stone turned and moved away, the tail went first. That was funny, I thought.'
