I came across this recording by accident and had never seen it before. I spent a few hours finding the source and the best quality version. I think it’s worth revisiting because the event took place 14 years ago.

On December 7th, 2010, a massive thunderstorm was rapidly approaching the city of Adelaide, South Australia. After hearing the weather forecast and seeing storm clouds gathering in the sky, I decided to set up a tripod to capture some spectacular lightning footage. To my surprise, just a minute later, a strange flying object appeared in the sky. At first, I thought it might be an airplane, until I zoomed in using the optical zoom on my HDR XR550VE Sony Handycam.

At that moment, I noticed that the object had no wings, and then it struck me that the object’s flashing lights didn’t resemble standard pulselights at all. The back-and-forth pendulum motion of the object’s lights became very clear, and the colors of the lights even seemed to change. It also seemed highly unusual for any flying object to be so close to lightning (unless it had some technology allowing it to fly near storms). When I saw a vertical lightning bolt shoot into the sky, it was dazzling. Finally, I managed to capture what I had originally intended—spectacular lightning footage.

On December 29th, 2010, the Australian media (having noticed the significant growth in interest around this UFO footage) published a newspaper article about the video. The article described the strange recording and the widely differing opinions of skeptics and believers. It also mentioned that the General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Adelaide Airport had commented that “Pulselite units were used on aircraft flying over Adelaide.” This was certainly a strong indication that someone had gone to great lengths to obtain an expert opinion on aviation (directly in response to this video).
