Description

I just stumbled across the 1979 Cecconi case in Italy for the first time, which is a pretty amazing case if you've never heard of it, and noticed something interesting while looking at the photos.

It's not clear enough to be conclusive and it could easily be a form of Pareidolia, but the second I saw this photo and before even enlarging it, I said to myself "huh, that sure looks like it has the same little things Commander Fravor described seeing on the bottom of the tic-tac".

Although roughly eighty photos were taken by Cecconi, as usual only a handful have ever been released. I could only find two that show the bottom of the craft, and the second is even less clear. I have to squint a little bit for the second but even so it still kind of looks like there are a few pixels that could possibly be the "appendages". It's a much bigger stretch though and I wouldn't have made this post if the second photo was all I found.

I'm very curious to hear what everyone thinks and whether anyone has noticed this before. I found a couple of old Reddit posts on the case and looked through the comments but didn't see any comparison to the Nimitz tic-tac.

Thanks for taking a look!

It took me a few minutes to find a clip of him saying it even though I remembered hearing it clearly, but here's Commander Fravor talking about how they noticed the little fins or "appendages" on the bottom of the tic-tac once they were back on the ship watching the original tapes. My apologies for the links, I have no idea how to embed it properly and tonight is not the night for me to learn.
