Live Stream AI Detections

This is my first attempt at live streaming with inference running, and there’s still a lot of fine-tuning to do. You will notice a lot of false positives. By accurately detecting known objects, the model becomes better at identifying and classifying unknown or unusual ones, like UFOs. All detected objects are saved and used to fine tune the model. The latency also could be improved, that I can’t quite figure out.

The stream is running through a Raspberry Pi 5 with an AI kit which includes a Hailo AI acceleration module. The frame rate with inference running has impressed me a lot. The model is a YOLOv8.hef
