I saw some folks using upscaling for analysis the other day and it really bothered me.

The point of upscaling is to make an image smoother and cleaner to look at. It does not reveal any hidden details, all it does is makes guesses based on the limited data it has. (I am not a know-it-all on the subject so I apologize if I got anything wrong, this is my understanding of how these programs work.)

A lot of people here seem to think that upscaling is a great method for analyzing footage but it really is not the case, I'd argue its quite dangerous as it makes up detail that people then use as proof of whatever they're claiming.
