Description
The Avrocar was a jet-powered, experimental aircraft designed in the 1950s as a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fighter-bomber. The Canadian government initially funded the project, but canceled it in 1959 due to cost. Avro then offered the project to the U.S., where the Air Force and Army took it over in 1958.
