this is perhaps the most poignant scene in Close Encounters of the 3rd kind, where a grifter hijacks a UFO meeting and centers attention of the media and the crowd on himself, with the infamous "I saw a bigfoot once!".

Whether an agent of influence, a grifter, or a sick individual in need of medical attention, does not matter - the meeting was ruined, the attention was gotten away from the actual phenomena into the ridiculous and inane.
