Facts

- Extraterrestrial investigators Ash Ellis and Abigail Hyslop, from UFO Identified, visited Bolton following a report of "a bright turquoise ball of light descending at a 45-degree angle from the sky".

- The witness was reportedly sitting on her bed chatting with a friend on WhatsApp, when she looked out of the window and saw something descend behind a row of houses and enter Seven Acres Country Park, in May last year.

- However, investigators concluded that the light seen in the sky was a meteorite, thus debunking the case.

- While this case has been solved, nine others remain a mystery.

- According to data from UFO Identified, the last sighting took place in February this year in Worsley, with two luminous objects in a strange formation, hovering and flying at incredible speed.

- In 2022, five UFOs were seen in Bolton between March and December, including a "perfectly round luminous globule moving very fast" and another reflective "ticking" object that disappeared and reappeared two miles away.

- Sightings occur at all hours of the day.

- Further sightings were made in May, when the meteorite fell at Seven Acres Country Park after midnight, and in July, with testimony of a perfectly luminous circle moving at around 500 mph without any noise.

- Two weeks before Christmas, a "large orange pulsating object" was spotted in the sky.

- In 2021, there were three sightings in Bolton, including two fast-moving ring-shaped UFOs and a luminous orb near Darwen Tower.

- In November, a witness took photos of strange objects in the sky, which he later discovered by creating a TikTok video.

- There may be more sightings reported in the Greater Manchester/Lancashire border area over the past six months, but due to a software glitch in the UFO Identified database.

- In December, a photographer was intrigued by an unidentified flying object near Bolton Parish Church.

- Since 2021, the UK has recorded 950 UFO sightings, with 412 in the first year, 493 in the second and just 45 in 2023.
