My wife and I were just chilling out on the deck of a condo off Carolina Beach as we were looking out into the ocean and we saw this orange orb that looked like a fire just north of us on the beach, probably about a mile away, that then just disappeared. And then after a while, we looked over to our east and saw one orb that was about 25 feet off the ocean, probably about a mile or two out from where we were, and then it disappeared.

And then about an hour later, for about 20 straight minutes from 11:20-11:40pm, one orb just remained constant over the water. We looked at our binoculars, we used my Google Pixel 10 20x zoom (see attached videos and pictures) and it was crazy to see this kind of fiery orb out there. Sometimes it was one, then another appeared right next to it, slightly above it. Both were completely stationary, then one just completely disappeared and the other disappeared. This continued for about 20 minutes straight, and then about 10 minutes ago at 11:40 p.m. Eastern Time, both just disappeared (right when I say down coincidentally) and neither have appeared since.

I am a casual UFO follower and after recently listening to Chris Bledsoe on the Why Files, know we're not too far from his orb sightings were seen back in 2007 off the Cape Fear River.

I am trying to explain it.

Was it a ship? There eas no hull underneath it.

Was it a maritime beacon? No, because it just randomly disappeared and appeared at different intervals.

Could it have been a military training exercise with flare parachutes? Possibly, but they weren't moving at all. They were just staying stationary before completely disappearing.

I have no other explanation.
