Descripton of sighting:
A slow moving, constant bright light.

We were leaving a restaurant just after sunset... The kids were looking for the first stars in the dusk sky... Then we noticed a constant bright light moving slowly across the southern sky.It was moving from west to east, about the speed of a satellite. There was no sound.The bright light was diffused by atmospheric moisture, and so it had a hazy look to it... We could see the light shining out towards the east, shining away from the setting sun. This makes me think it was not light relfected by the sun (as that would be shining/reflecting on the western side). [?]

My best guess is the ISS - but our sighting doesn't line up with when NASA says we could see the ISS from Christchurch (should be early morning for us). My next-best guess is a weather balloon- but why was it so bright?
It is a mystery.

WHAT DID WE SEE? (https://twitter.com/mudpuppy_NZ/status/1641709396685389824?s=20)On my video, I started off filming an airplane to illustrate the difference between a normal plane & our UAP. You can also see a star, above the slow-moving bright light: the plane and the star are both normal.As we were studying the UAP- a bonus interesting thing happened: at (approx) 7 seconds, you can see what looks like a star, flash for a split second, just above the UAP. I think this may be a small meteorite hitting the atmosphere. [?] Interesting!
