A possible mundane explanation has emerged for at least part of the recent Mayk Leão UFO case from Campo Largo, Paraná, Brazil.

For anyone who has not followed the case: Brazilian influencer Mayk Leão posted a series of videos claiming he experienced strange activity around his rural property. The original sequence included unusual animal behavior, a strange sound near the property, lights in the sky or near the treeline, and later a claim that a large object passed over or near his home.

The most widely discussed part was the distant colorful lights he filmed near the forest / mountain line. Many viewers interpreted them as a large luminous object or possible UFO hovering near or above the trees.

However, new comparison videos and local posts suggest a more ordinary explanation for those specific lights.

Several Brazilian users are now pointing out that the lights may come from a camping / farm area in the Serra behind the forest, possibly near a place referred to as Chácara Paraíso or a camping area in the region. One video reportedly shows the perspective from the camping/farm area itself, with visible lights that resemble the lights seen in Mayk’s footage.

Another important update: Mayk later appeared to show very similar lights during a livestream, but this time reportedly described them as people and/or a campfire rather than a UFO.

A Brazilian user also compared the original “UFO” lights with the later livestream lights and argued that they appear to be the same distant source. The claim is that the lights were not actually above the trees, but farther back behind the forest line, creating a misleading perspective from Mayk’s property.

This does not automatically explain every part of the original story.

It may explain:

– the distant colored lights

– the apparent “object” near the treeline

– the impression that something was hovering above the trees

– the confusion caused by distance, darkness, phone zoom, and low-light compression

But it does not fully explain, at least from the material currently available:

– the strange sound Mayk described and recorded

– the animals reacting earlier in the day

– the damaged electric fence / broken post

– the claim that something large later passed over or near the house

– whether all clips were filmed from the same direction and at the same time window

So I would not call the entire case “solved” yet.

But I do think the strongest visual part of the case, the distant lights, now has a plausible terrestrial explanation that needs to be taken seriously.

The next step should be a proper location check:

1. Confirm Mayk’s filming position.
2. Confirm the exact location of the camping/farm lights.
3. Compare line of sight using a map.
4. Match the angle, elevation, and distance.
5. Compare the original footage with the later livestream footage.
6. Check whether the lights were visible from that location on other nights.

Until that is done, I think the most responsible conclusion is:

The Mayk Leão case is not fully explained, but the distant “UFO lights” may very likely have been campsite/farm lights behind the forest rather than an object hovering above the trees.

This is also a useful reminder for UFO analysis in general: night footage filmed with phone zoom can make distant ground lights look elevated, close, large, and mysterious, especially when the landscape between the camera and the lights is mostly dark.
