The Calvine UFO is not a mountain seen during a cloud inversion. But you earn points for bringing out the old and dusty cloud/temperature/weather inversion debunk. But why is the UFO not a mountain? Easy. Because that mountain is already in the photo. First, let's look at the eyewitness testimony; we have to do so because it is the same testimony that debunkers are currently using in order to place the sighting at that location—never mind that they ignored that earlier when it wasn't convenient that there isn't a lake there.
After seeing the object in the sky, the two chefs hid.
*"Terrified, they hid in some bushes and looked up. "*
Now, given that bushes tend to be lower to the ground and that few people hide in bushes while standing, it is safe to assume that they were crouched, low to the ground, maybe even laying down. It is from this position that they reached out and snapped the pictures.
*"Eventually the two men stuck their camera out from where they were hiding and fired off six frames."*
Given that their positions did not change during this time, we can assume that the images are snapped low to the ground and angled up towards the object. This explains why the fence line seems to lean away from the viewer. They were already on a height over the valley. The mountain in question is in the distance, and because of their low angle, the mountain should appear low in frame. They would not be able to get the mountain in frame the way it would have to be in order for it to be the UFO from that low angle. The position they claimed they were in, which again, is from the very testimony that debunkers are suddenly using in order to place them at the location.
So is there a mountain low in frame where it would logically be? Yes. In the following pictures, *all I did* was adjust the levels, darkening shadows and brining out mid-tones. I then pointed out the mountain.
You can just faintly see the mountain in question here. (https://preview.redd.it/hwx305l8trh91.png?width=3103&format=png&auto=…)
And here I have outlined it for clarity. (https://preview.redd.it/rs3llqvatrh91.png?width=3103&format=png&auto=…)
You'll notice that closer in view to the camera is a darker mass, consistent with the hillside we see before that mountain in the more recent location picture. So explain to me how that mountain can be both in the air....and in the distance. Remember, that is the most prominent peak in the area, and no other surrounding mountain is quite as triangular or prominent. If the UFO is the distant mountain peak as some have suggested, then this low to the frame mountain peak would be rising from the valley. And why would the distant peak have none of the atmospheric blurring that the presumably, nearer one, does?
