I just got through listening to a podcast where Jeremy Corbell was interviewed and during this time it triggered a memory of when I was younger and seeing something that I could not and still cannot explain.

This would have been in the very late 80s or very early 90s. I was somewhere in the 18-20 age range. I grew up in what is considered deep East Texas. It's practically the rainforest of Texas. It is nothing but small town living in the middle of vast forests of Pine and Oak trees. The point I am trying to make is there is nothing out there and on a dark night there is no light pollution from cities. When it's dark, it is dark.

I came home one night and parked at the back of our house. The house was setup to have concrete slab that was covered and doubled as parking for a car and the back porch. It was open to the outside other than the back of the house where the door was. This covered porch area was adjacent with the house so there was no obstruction of view from the sides. Once you are on the porch and you walk across we had a waist high wall that ran the length which had a gate the led into a backyard area for the dogs. I walked over and held my hand over and played with the dogs as I always did when I came in.

As I am petting the dogs I look up and the view that you see when looking that direction is nothing but a tree line. We had about 10 acres and most of it we kept undisturbed and wooded. Behind our property in that direction is a huge wooded area that was undisturbed as well. There is no residential properties in that direction. Above the tree line I saw a lighted shape and it held my focus.

It was just there. It looked like a "C", another "C" across from it that was flipped vertically and 2 circles between them that were aligned side by side. The sky was pitch dark and the shape had a slight yellowish tint to it. It did not flicker or strobe. There was no sense of movement from it at all. I just stood there and stared. I could not stop looking at it and I don't even remember blinking during this time. I felt if I stopped looking at it then I would miss something.

This is of course the age before cell phones. The only camera I had available is the big 35mm inside the house but I dared not move. It felt like I was standing there for hours but in reality it may have been 5 or 10 minutes. During this time that shape never altered in anyway. I had a sense of it was staring at me as much as I was staring at it and each of us was daring the other to blink first.

I finally convinced myself that I had to go in and attempt at getting the camera. It hasn't moved in all this time so why would it move now. I probably stood there another 5 minutes planning my path into the house. While never taking my eyes away from it I reached over and unlocked the door. I visualized where the camera was in the house and how I was going to run in there, grab it and get back outside in under 30 seconds. I took and deep breath and ran like an insane person through the house.

I ran to my room and grabbed the camera and immediately started back. While in full sprint I was yanking it from the case and getting it ready to shoot. I definitely made it back out in less than a minute. Definitely 30-45 seconds. It was gone. I immediately started running around the house and looking everywhere in the sky. In the direction it was in, directly above, behind me, everywhere. I was just spinning around looking for it. Nothing but black sky. Gone.

I have never told anyone about this night and I don't know why. I know I saw what I saw. I have no doubt in my mind about it. I just have always kept it to myself. Added below is what I saw. It was very basic in shape and design as this. The edges were very precise as well. There was no bleeding over from the illumination of the object. It did not give off a presence of "shining" like a normal light would. It was just there. Anyway...this was my story for whatever it is worth.
