Description

I found several interesting cases of cross-shaped UFO sightings. It seems that people from different places around the world and different periods of time have seen the same kind of crafts. I want to share with you the cases I found, as well as my personal thoughts on these sightings.

(1) 1478 AD - Milan, Italy :

According to Conrad Lycosthenes, Two fiery crosses were observed in the sky over Milan during a battle (War of the Pazzi). No further information.

(2) 1547 AD - Glarus, Switzerland :

A large white cross, two golden lions and an army of black knights were seen fighting each other in the sky. At a certain time during the battle, one of the golden lions lost its head (!).

(3) April 14th, 1561 AD - Nuremberg, Germany :

Here's the famous incident known as the sky battle of Nuremberg : between 4:00 and 5:00 AM, many people saw a spectacular phenomenon in the sky; Two blood-red semi-circular arcs appeared in the middle of the sun. There were several blue, black and red spheres around the sun. Some of the spheres were flying in two types of formations : the first one is a line made of three spheres, the other one is a square made of four of spheres.

Red crosses were also observed, as well as several small cylinders and three big ones. The spheres flew into the sun, came back and all the objects in the sky started fighting each other. After an hour of fierce battle, some of the objects caught fire and crashed to the ground, leaving a lot of smoke and fire. After all this there was huge black spear-shaped object in the sky. The text does not tell what happened after this apparition.

(4) August 27th, 1998 - Echuca, Australia :

about 9:00 PM, the eyewitness "M.D" and his wife were returning from South Australia and decided to stop at Echuca for a meal at McDonalds. They were parked in the street and were watching what they thought to be a light plane. It was about 2 kilometres away and descending at a rapid speed. The witness commented to his wife that there must be an airport nearby or that it was going to crash. Nothing seemed to happen so they forgot about it.

Around 9:45 PM, they left Echuca and started heading south until they got to the Murray Valley Highway. M.D then looked out to the right and noticed a red light in the sky. He believed it was an aircraft or helicopter at a very low altitude. M.D estimated the height between 75 to 150 feet.

The object was getting closer to them and they believed that it was going to intercept them on the highway about 250 meters in front of them. M.D still thought it was an aircraft or a helicopter and was going to land. He swerved to the left, went into a bush and stopped the car. the object was hovering over them. It was completely still and had no normal navigational lights. It had a red glow on the top and a red flashing light on what he thought to be the rear.

M.D got out of the car to have a closer look. His wife wouldn't get out as she was frightened. The UFO was large and had what appeared to be four wings like a cross. He estimated the size at about 60 feet across. It was making no noise, and was perfectly still. There was nothing that was sustaining it in the air. He was concerned that if it dropped it would crush the car and them.

A white light appeared on the front and was pointed downwards but had no beam. It was bright. It later went out. The craft then moved away without making a noise. As the UFO moved away it tilted allowing M.D to view the top section. He also noticed that another car had come to a stop and when the object flew in their direction they left very quickly.

After the object left them, it flew for a kilometer and then made a very rapid descent. M.D believed that it was going to crash at the rear of the industrial estate. He then got back in his car and did a U turn and drove down a road to the industrial estate. He then saw the object pull into a very steep climb and accelerate quickly away, into the stars. It only took a couple of seconds to disappear.

(5) February 15th 2004 - Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA :

About 7:00 PM, a cross-shaped UFO with three orange lights on each arm/wing and a white light in the center was observed near Bananna river. It remained stationary for approximately 30-35 minutes. It first appeared over Merritt Island, west of the Bannana river. The witness observed the UFO with binoculars. The object began to move slowly and the center light changed from white to orange to red. Patrick AFB and local police/sheriff department were notified.

(6) June/July 2009 - St Pauls Cray, Orpington, England :

Around 2:00 PM, the witness, a 51 year-old engineer was sitting in the back garden of his house with his partner enjoying the sunny day. He was looking up at the sky, watching the high flying airliners, which were coming from the east. He then noticed what he thought to be a plane at first, coming out from the north. It looked very large as it slowly came towards them. He then noticed that it did not have any engines under the wings. As the object got closer he realized that it wasn't a plane at all.

The UFO was a symmetrical cross, he then heard the sound of engines ,but the noise was coming from a plane, coming from the east, and to his amazement the plane went under the cross. The witness then realized how high the UFO was. The cross was about four times the size of the airliner and it was much higher. By this time, it was right above the witness.

The UFO was whitish-grey in color, had no markings or engines. The end of the wings were curved, as well as where the four wings joined in the middle. The whole craft had a very smooth surface, and it made no noise, by this time a cloud had come along obscuring the view of the cross. The witness waited for it to come out of the cloud but he never saw it again.

(7) March 31st, 2015 - Yorktown Heights, New York, USA :

Around 11:00 PM, the witness "Louise" was driving south on Somerstown Turnpike in Yorktown Heights in Westchester County, NY. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a bright spot in the sky. The light was so bright that it caught her attention and she immediately thought that it must be a UFO. Rather than make a right turn to head home, she drove further down Route 100 to get a closer look.

As she approached the Muscoot Reservoir, she could see that the bright, glowing object was still there.The UFO was hovering on the left side of the reservoir. She described the object as a cross-shaped UFO and that it looked like a giant “plus” sign. The light wasn't blinking or twinkling like a star, or a plane or satellite.

She drove all the way to State Route 129, where she was just was about to pull over and study the cross-shaped UFO, but it suddenly vanished. She then stopped her car, got out and looked around the sky to view the object again, but to no avail.

(8) February 1st 2022 - Cave Springs, Arkansas, USA :

about 6:08 AM, the witness was driving north onto Sands Road and noticed what they initially thought was an airplane. The object was a very odd and large X shape. It was moving slow, just below cloud level at a slight upward angle heading North - Northwest. The witness watched the craft enter into the cloud layer and disappear inside. No sounds of jet or prop-driven aircraft were hear.

The witness turned West onto Wallis Road trying to continue to view its path and turned left back into the housing development main entrance. There were no vehicles present in any direction. They continued around and stopped to try to recover the view but it was gone. The witness was awestruck and didn't have the time to get their phone to record the sighting because the UFO disappeared quickly.

The crafts' top 2 arms/wings had one white light at the end. The center of the "X" had a red light. The 2 Lower arms had 2 white lights on each arm. The UFO was estimated to be 50 to 100 feet in diameter.

ANALYSIS :

1) Similarities between the the 4th, 5th and 8th case :

* Both (4) and (8) seem to describe an X-shaped craft over 50-60 feet in diameter.
* The three cases mentioned that the UFOs had a red light in the center.
* The Echuca witnesses, unlike case (5) and (8), didn't see any lights on the wings but said they saw some sort of light beam that briefly illuminated the front of the craft. I think we're dealing with same UFOs except this time the white/orange lights were turned off for some reason.

2) When it comes to the 2nd and 6th case, both of them describe a white/whitish grey cross. I think the Orpington UFO wasn't as big as the witness claimed. His description of the plane passing under the UFO could be a perspective illusion. The object might have been closer than he thought and had the same size as the 4th and 8th sightings. Another similarity is that the witness from the 4th case said the craft had curved edges just like case (6), as well as a curve in the center where the red light should've been.

3) As to the Milan and Nuremberg sightings, i think they're the same UFOs observed in the 4th and 8th case with red light in the center, but because they weren't close enough to the the witnesses to discern details, they gave the impression of being red colored/glowing crosses. The same can be said about the 2015 sighting in New York.

4) We now have somekind of general idea about these X-shaped crafts :

* They're at least 50 feet (15,24 meters) in diameter.
* They're white/whitish-grey in color.
* There's a red light in the center (cockpit ?) of the crafts.
* The crafts have a set of three lights on each wing.
* These lights have different activation and color configurations, which might indicate information about the general state of the craft, its flight mode, the operating systems and mechanisms etc...

5) What I found the most interesting was that these sightings weren't random, but they seem to happen nearly every 6-7 years. Why ? I have no idea and hope to find the answer one day. Here is a timeline i made.
