Description

I saw this light from my backyard, Christmas Eve 2017. It wasn't bright enough to be the moon, and it was too far above the treeline to be mistaken for a street light. I thought it was a drone at first, except for the fact that it was completely silent and made no visible movement. When I went inside my house for a moment, then back out to check on it again, it had moved across half my yard and still it remained utterly motionless. It had this bizarre glow to it that refused to illuminate anything else around it. I took a picture of it as quickly as I could, but when I tried to take more my phone's screen turned white and the subsequent photos turned out black. Couldn't tell if this thing actually disrupted my camera or if I was too much of a spaz to correctly take another picture without losing my nerve/critical faculty. Looking back on it, I'm positive I kept my hand steady when I took them. After that I went back inside, and not a minute later I went back to see if it moved again, but it was no longer there. Can someone tell me what this is? If it were a drone I think I would have heard it, or at least seen it rocking back and forth a bit. I would be happy to provide more details if asked.
