Over the past two days, the majority of Turkish media outlets have been reporting on an incident involving an unidentified flying object that was recorded using binoculars and a mobile phone.

The articles describe the activities of two local ufologists who have repeatedly conducted nighttime sky observations in the Ankara region. This time, however, they managed for the first time to record a phenomenon they considered exceptional. One of them, Okan Kılıç, described the events of November 8, 2025, in his account:

“As usual, we came here over the weekend to drink tea and observe the night sky. At around 9:00 p.m., we saw yellow lights appearing above the peak of the opposite mountain. We followed them with our eyes for a while. When I looked through the binoculars, I noticed that the lights were emerging from a horizontal plane and moving to the right. At that moment, I handed the binoculars to Orhan and started recording with my mobile phone.”

According to Kılıç, the object consisted of 8–9 lights, was very large, and its diameter may have been as much as around 100 meters. The witness emphasized that it did not resemble Starlink satellites, a drone, or any known unmanned aerial vehicle.

“We regularly conduct evening observations and have seen smaller objects before, but what appeared that night was something completely different.”
