Hi all!

Quite some time ago, September and October 2018, I’ve had some remarkable experiences with unknown air traffic. Decided to share it, because the whole “drone” discussion simply reminds me to it. I’ll share my observations, thoughts and a compilation of what’s stored in my video archive.

I’m an aviation enthusiast, raised and living in an area next to a NATO airbase in The Netherlands, EU. Giving that combination, I think that I can easily recognize the usual F16, F35 and all NATO planes like F15, F18, Rafale, Mirage2k, Gripen, Tornado, the Polish Mig29, some old Greek F4's – you name it. Nowadays there’s also MQ9 Reaper drones flying over. For the average enthusiast, not that hard to identify – especially the sound.
Besides the NATO and air force traffic we also see quite often some helicopters for medical services like an Airbus H135, navy helicopter NH90 and off course some civil aviation as displayed on Flightradar. It’s always like that, and there’s never any new and remarkable to see. Except:

These days, around September 2018 I’ve noticed some remarkable differences in flight patterns, density, sounds and lights. And it kept me awake for a while.

Decided to capture as much as possible on video, and made compares with existing and known aerial phenomena – military as civil. But couldn’t make the matches and that didn’t solve anything. After that, I shared the experiences with military servicemen in my friend and family zone, military internet media, local news media and even went on some podcasts. Trying to get answer on the question: can anyone identify what’s entering our skies nowadays?

The attached video is a modest summary of all I could film. But gives a good impression of what passed by these days.

Remarkable facts:

\- On an average night, while standing sky watching, sometimes 20-30 of these phenomena passed by in around 15 minutes. That’s highly unusual and are no Flightradar matches. It looked they came out of nowhere flying to nowhere just showing off (to me?).
\- Some of them first appear as “white fluttering orbs”. And suddenly transform to “planes”.
\- Some of them (very rare) dissapeared in a huge phosphor-like white flash, lighting the whole sky.
\- Some of them had no sound.
\- Once I witnessed one at a very closed distance. It went from an orb state, to a plane like thing flying at low altitude, complete silent.
\- Some of them seemed to have incomplete silhouettes/air frames. Or fixed-wing.
\- The NATO Quick Reaction Alert F16’s, at a distance of 15kms/9miles didn’t respond to it at all.

Other remarkable experiences while sky watching around these days:

– Once a “helicopter” made a low pass flyby. Didn’t recognize the sound as a common one (like the NH90 or EC135). It had no lights and it sounded fake, like an low quality .wav audio sample on repeat.
– Was filming at night sky watching, on a remote location. A single person, unrecognizable, on a bicycle passed by, carrying a loud audio speaker playing and singing out loud: “Stuck in the middle with you” by Steelers Wheel. Isn’t that a funny coincidence?
\- While filming North, on the Westside some immense blinking lights (red, green) appeared at a very low altitude above the rooftops of the nearby residential buildings in a dense built neighborhood. My thoughts were, must me a Lifeliner/medical helicopter and something happened over there. This must awake everyone in that neighborhood! Grapped the camera, rushed to the location, arrived 3 mins later, it dissapeared (far too quick) in the far distance. No people, nobody awake, nothing to see.

Left this behind for years now, but still curious. What the -beep- happened around these days in 2018? And no, afterwards till nowadays it never returned in this airspace. And maybe there's matches with the stuff around Kopenhagen, New Jersey etc.
And on a very personal level you feel getting crazy at some point. It's a major league wtf. Off course I doubted myself for all, and asked myself if I maybe lost my mind, asked my friends and family to reflect on this. But I don't think that I suffer from any mental problems. :)
