Hello all,
Long-time lurker and first-time poster. Ever since I was five years old, I've been borderline (perhaps entirely) obsessed with the topic of UFOs and aliens. Honestly, I'm not sure why. I'd never had any sightings of my own and everyone around me always ridiculed me for my 'weird' interest or called it nonsense.
I'd noticed it's usually the case that anyone who *wants* to experience something unexplained/paranormal never does; bigfoot hunters rarely, if ever, see a bigfoot; ghost hunters rarely, if ever, see a ghost; and, unfortunately, those who want to see a UFO rarely, if ever, do. Since this is the case, I resigned myself to never having a sighting myself, contented only to read others' experiences.
All of that has changed over the last few months.
The last few months have provided me with, not one, but *two* amazing sightings I never thought I'd have, leaving me absolutely convinced of the reality of these craft. I'll do my best to describe the two experiences here, the second of which happened just two nights ago. Both experiences took place on clear, cloudless nights in Arizona.

I was lying in bed playing Elden Ring on my PS5. I'd just gotten to Stormveil Castle and decided to rest at a Site of Grace when something caught my eye. Through the closed blinds of my north-facing window, a bright orange light shone through. I instinctively realized something about the light was off, as the light was way too close to my window to be any of the usual aircraft and was also solid/unblinking. I sprang out of my bed with the speed of a gazelle and raced to open the blinds in hopes of seeing whatever was producing that light.
To my amazement, an ovoid/football-shaped craft was silently gliding over my neighborhood. The craft was maybe 40-50 feet off the ground and about the same distance away from me at its closest. It was about the size of a Volkswagen Beetle and moving rather slowly from east to west, a movement I can only describe as 'gliding'. On its two ends were circular, red lights that pulsated (not blinked) very slowly at regular intervals. These red lights would slowly dim and then rise back up to full brightness, each cycle taking around seven seconds. On the underside was the solid orange light I'd seen; just three lights in total. Even at its closest I couldn't hear a sound, only silence. No wings, no propellers. I watched it move further down the neighborhood as it cleared the roof of a house to my left. It then performed a very controlled 'S-curve' and glided down toward the next town with its same, slow grace. It appeared to be steering with its 'nose', one of the ends of the football. I tracked it until it disappeared over the horizon. From a distance it looked like every other plane on the horizon with a red light. The whole experience lasted a minute and left me with an eerie feeling.
The picture attached to my post is a shitty digital drawing I made of the UFO the following morning. Linked below is an AI-generated image that's kind of close to what I saw.

Two nights ago, I was camped out on the Mogollon Rim with a buddy of mine. We were laying on our mats and stargazing as we had done the night before (another UFO was seen the previous night, more on that later). We were having fun shooting the shit and watching planes and satellites move overhead.
An hour into it, I see what looks like another satellite slowly crossing the sky. It was a somewhat large, off-white/yellowish ball going in a perfectly straight line. I'm tracking it with my eyes the whole way, and as it gets halfway across the sky, it suddenly shoots up into space at a 75-degree angle like a bullet out of a gun. It was absolutely instantaneous. A trail of light was left behind similar to when you drag your mouse cursor across the screen quickly and you can see a trail of faint cursors following it as they catch up.
I looked at my friend and said: "Holy crap, did you see that?" He said he only saw part of the trail it left behind. I was standing up and jumping around, excited to have seen something so amazing. The family camped next to us probably thought I was nuts.
Those were the two main sightings that have proven to me the reality of the phenomenon. However, I have seen other anomalous lights that weren't exactly 'smoking guns' but nonetheless interesting. I figured I might as well jot them down while I'm at it.

I was floating in my pool and staring up at the sky as darkness was beginning to fall. There were a few big clouds in the sky and, as I'm staring up, I notice lights beginning to emerge from behind one of the clouds. They looked like lasers being fired from a space cannon, something out of Star Wars. Five at a time shot out from behind this cloud, *pew pew pew pew pew*. Then there would be a three-second pause, and five more lasers would shoot out. There were maybe five cycles of this laser fire followed by a brief pause. The lasers didn't travel across the whole sky but dissipated after a somewhat short distance, maybe a few hundred feet. Someone told me I might've seen Starlink satellites, but I've never found a video of them that looks remotely close to what I saw that night.

Again, I was floating in my pool and staring up at the night sky. This was a clear, cloudless night, and I was absolutely furious about some damn thing or another. Like any normal person, I decided to pick a star out of the sky to cuss at in my head. This particular star was one of the brightest in the sky, so my eyes were naturally drawn to it. After a few minutes of staring at this star and calling it every name in the book, it blinks out of existence right before my very eyes. It was as if someone had flipped a switch. I was left dumbfounded and started apologizing to the sky for my rudeness. I suppose this was a case of accidental CE5 gone wrong?

This was the night before the most recent sighting that blew my mind. My buddy and I were, again, stargazing out on the Mogollon Rim and watching planes and satellites pass overhead while we shot the shit. I'm watching what appeared to be a bright satellite pass low in the sky until it performed a sharp change of direction and started travelling downward. It'd passed behind some trees, so I had to stand up from my mat and walk a few paces in order to see it. It wasn't just travelling downward anymore, but moving erratically to the right, left, up, and down, all the while it's growing bright, then growing dim, then bright again. This erratic behavior lasted ten seconds before it disappeared in the sky. My friend didn't see it, unfortunately.
Yeah, consider me a believer at this point. If you just read all of that, thank you for your time. I couldn't hold in my excitement about these sightings and had to get them out there. If anyone has seen something similar to what I've described, especially the football-shaped object, I'd love to hear your story.
TL;DR: I witnessed a football-shaped UFO gliding over my neighborhood, an orb of light that shot up into space at incredible speeds, as well as a few less interesting lights in the sky that were worth mentioning.
