Description

In Close Encounters of the Third Kind Lockheed was the name on the side of the boxes that were shipped in to study the local reports of UFOs.

Many people forget this movie. It starts with orbs, paranormal activity, experiences of fear, an abduction. Roy loses time, gets burned by a white light, some strange object with blinking lights interferes with his truck's electronics.

Later, he's obssesed with Devil's Mound, he keeps compusively mimicking it everywhere he goes. His family thinks he's losing his mind. Then, Lockheed gets involved. They set up shop near Devil's Tower. Two people from different parts of the country were compelled to go there, and witness the scientists and military officials summon a UAP that has no visible means of propulsion, has all kinds of colors, makes sounds like trumpets of heaven, and eventually slender nonhuman beings with three fingers and oblong skulls come out followed by soldiers from World War II who may have seen Foo Fighters in the sky.

Jacques Vallee has a character based on him, and J Allen Hynek makes an actual cameo.

It's important to contextualize the reports of today, with those of the past. James Lacatski's books are a great place to start, he and Colhm Kelleher founded AAWSAP which Hal Putoff (removte viewing woth Russel Targ for CIA) and Jacques Vallee helped to develop the methodologies for cataloguing UAP reports and analyzing the data.

Please be civil, avoid hostility, and be respectful. I'm not here to discuss beliefs, but analyze perceptions and contextualize historical events. This movie, is a piece of our cultural history as a society, and as Americans. It didn't just come out of no where.
