Sighting reported on NUFORC. There are quite a few videos like this one, some filmed during the daytime and others at night. Does anyone have a prosaic explanation?

Flashing lights before dusk

I was just sitting at home and saw out of my window some glimmering lights in the eastern sky. I’ve never seen anything like that before, they kind of danced around the sky, split seconds in each location, from one flash to another. I started recording a video probably about 10 seconds after I first noticed it. All in all lasted roughly 30 seconds that I was aware of.

This was a summer evening. There was allegedly thunderstorms in the area, but I had not seen any lightning nor heard thunder. A bit before this it was quite windy, but I think that had stopped by the time this happened. The sky in that area seemed overcast. A bit after this it started raining. I did not notice any thunder or lightning at all this day.

This happened in St. Louis, MO on 09/04/2023 at exactly 6:49 PM.
