I found this article while searching through a database of UK newspapers. This is an interesting early sighting because there were multiple witnesses, and several of the classic details are included, such as lights at each corner of the triangle and a red light at the center.

It seems to me that this is further evidence that makes it highly unlikely that these things are secret human tech. There is no way we could have been making such things 64 years ago and have kept them secret all this time.

Not only that, but their historical preponderance to fly at low altitude near cities and highways, at slow speed in plain sight of multiple witnesses, with bright lights, just does not fit the pattern of secret aircraft.
