Thank you for contacting me to share your thoughts about unidentified aerial phenomena.

As you may know, in July 2023, the House Oversight subcommittee on National Security held a hearing on this issue. In that hearing, former Department of Defense employees spoke about government research into this subject and their knowledge of the issue. The witnesses shared that they previously felt unable to come forward with some information out of fear of retaliation. After the hearing, other experts separately raised a variety of concerns about the witnesses’ allegations.

I agree with you on the importance of transparency in our government, which is why I’ve voted to protect the independence of government investigators and whistleblowers. If I’m given the opportunity to consider legislation related to this issue, I will be sure to take your views into account. You may also be interested to know that the Pentagon has launched a public website to share declassified information on this issue, which you can access at www.aaro.mil (http://www.aaro.mil).

I want to begin by thanking you for your dedicated work overall to help the community of [state] and families.

I would like to ask you for your opinion or comments on the topic of UAP, or Unidentified Ariel Phenomenon. As you probably know, an amendment to the 2023-2024 NDAA was presented to the floor bi-partisanly by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called the UAP Disclosure Act. It was co-signed by 3 Democrats (including Schumer) and 3 Republicans, making this one of the most bi-partisan issues on the hill right now.

I know many [state]s and Americans, Republicans and Democrats alike, are interested in this topic and would absolutely appreciate more transparency from the government in order to put this issue to rest.So here are my questions:

1. What is your stance on this issue as a whole?

2. What is your stance on the recent whistleblower allegations and new UAP Disclosure Act?

3. How involved in this issue are you/what have you done for this issue?

4. Is there anything that you have heard, shown, or seen that you would consider to be worth of investigation in regards to UAP?

5. Is there anything that I can do or others can do for this topic?
