I believe that in this video (2006) Pavel Popovich (the fourth cosmonaut in space) describes the same type of UAP that we could've seen in the US Navy's pilot video.

So the journalist Dmitry Gordon asks Popovich if he saw any aliens or UFO. Popovich says he saw a VERY bright white isosceles triangle while flying from Washington to Moscow on a plane. The plane's radars and tech didn't record the craft but the crew saw it with their eyes and they tried to evaluate its size. They came to the conclusion it was 100 meters in length on each side. According to him, the craft was flying with higher speed than the plane's (1000km/hr) - about 1500 km/hr (in his other interview he stated it was 1000 km/hr and the plane was going with 900km/hr speed).

Gordon then asks if Popovich belives it was just a man-made secret weapon and cosmonaut says he doesn't believe it.

He didn't mention the year in this interview, but I checked his other interviews and in one of them he mentioned that it happened in the 70s. He also mentioned that on his flight there were representatives from the office of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. So the scientists also saw the luminous triangle and tried to built a version of what it was. In that other interview Popovich also mentioned that the triangle flew by for about an hour before speeding up.
