Description

I was walking back from Waitrose when I realize Jupiter and Venus were glaring at me from the sky. I’ve been trying to improve my photography, and thought I’d snap a few.

I took some and opened them in Lightroom to see if I could enhance the planets from an iPhone shot.

Then I saw this thing in the upper right hand corner and couldn’t figure it out. I first though it was just a lens flare, but no… of the twenty pictures taken in the same spot within seconds of one another, and without moving anything… this is the only one with that thing in the image.

I also adjusted for lens flare in LR, and there wasn’t a change. I checked Moiré, and nothing.

WTF is that? My SkyGuide app doesn’t show anything visible in the sky at that point other than the two planets… which look incredible considering it’s an iPhone in Central London’s light pollution.
