Location: Outside Monopoli, Italy, driving Northwest away from the town parallel to the coast
Time: 9:43pm

My wife and I were driving back to our Villa after dinner, and spotted these shimmering objects slowly traversing the night sky. Stopped and immediately started recording. Apologies for my accidental zoom out at the start of the video and not panning around for more visual context - still kicking myself for it!

Nearby was a pretty stunning fireworks display - someone must have been getting married. You can hear the fireworks at the start of the video. According to my depth perception I’d say the objects were around around 500 meters away from us.

Most of the objects are following the same path (out towards the sea), but there are a few exceptions. At the very start before I zoom out, one of the objects can be seen leaving the cluster at great speed towards the bottom of the screen. And later on one or two can be seen moving in other directions, some slower and some faster.

The movement of the light is weird. Almost moving in tiny circles. The lack of any noise. The slow, steady movement. The fact they aren’t falling.

I’ve explored every option I can think of to explain them: Space/rocket debris, starlink, drones, even fireflies. Just can’t find anything to match them up with.

What are your thoughts? UFOs or something else?
