Background: I’ve been lurking on this sub the past couple of years after the resurfacing of articles from the NYT caught my attention. Prior to this I hadn’t put much thought into the topic of UFOs and intelligent non-human lifeforms, but have kept an open mind as the universe is expansive and what we (as humans) know is an ongoing process. Further, we have perspective bias that limits observational objectivity, so empathy is in order for those who choose to share as we approach this enigma.

I don’t typically engage here as this place can be toxic across the spectrum of those who support and debunk, but like many I’m interested in the phenomenon. I’ll do my best to be succinct with the details, but a disclaimer is warranted. This is not the proof that everyone is seeking so ardently. It’s just our (my wife’s and my) recent experience that after discussion we decided to share here. Two rational, scientifically-minded adults who were both looking in the same direction at the same time and didn’t see what was being recorded until my wife saw the objects on her iPhone screen about midway through. To all of the "Comic Book Guys" from The Simpsons, go continue to critique the individuals putting more tangible evidence forward (We’re not the droids you’re looking for).

Details: We live about 1.5 hours north of Seattle, WA in Skagit County. Our home faces west toward Deception Pass Bridge on the Puget Sound. On days when I work from home, we have coffee while bird watching in the morning. This particular morning, November 4th, 2021 around 8:30am, there was a rainbow forming on the horizon so my wife decided to make a video as the colors were becoming more pronounced. While filming our cat interrupted and came to us purring. As my wife returned to filming out the window, she noticed faint objects on the screen that were not present to the naked eye. She continued to record until they were no longer in view and then asked me if I saw anything. After discussing what she saw I asked her to send me the video to look at myself and immediately wrote it off as migrating flocks of birds. I did not see anything like these objects with my eyes during this time, nor any flocks of birds. Given our location birds were the most likely explanation at first glimpse, especially with the cloudy weather, but something didn’t sit well with us writing it off.

With the video on my mind, I tried to capture flocks of birds or any distant bird activity to reconcile what the video shows. They all looked like tiny specks regardless of flock density at that distance. About 50 minutes from the initial video two jets flew by (we live close to a Naval Air Station-Oak Harbor, WA and routinely see training exercises), so I recorded them to give perspective of what planes look like from the same distance as recorded (same zoom settings as well). Later that day I decided to play with the basic settings on the initial video and adjusted the exposure, contrast, etc. to see if I could make out any details better. The most visible objects move at a persistent speed, but don’t do anything extraordinary. I sent the original and “enhanced” version to a friend, who agreed they were odd given that we didn’t see them with our own eyes. His best guess was planes pulling advertisements. This is where it starts to get odd.

That evening I pull the “enhanced” video up to try and slow down the frames with my thumb while recording a screen grab on my phone. At 42 seconds an object appears to come through the clouds at an incredibly high speed, does a maneuver, and moves out of frame to the north with a weird hop. I then made clips with the object zoomed in and out using the screen record function on my iPhone. A similar object can be seen on the right upper quadrant of the screen that appears to do another maneuver at high speed (most visible at 1:02). We cast these videos onto our TV and aside from saying bug or bird (although they don’t fit with other closer objects on the video in terms of depth and cannot be tracked on the foreground) we don’t know what they are. The object at 1:02 seems to be going between the bridge and inlet. I was not able to trace it on the darkened foreground of trees, which is the same for the object at 00:42. If either of the aforementioned were in the foreground, my suspicion would be that the branch would come out of focus, but they were not visible to the naked eye and hardly visible on the unedited video so that could be a factor for the focus not shifting.

If anyone thinks these are not mundane misidentified birds, bugs, or balloons I’m happy to answer questions to help clarify the setting. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I ask to be civil as I’m just bringing something to observe that we found interesting and not easily identifiable (hence the sub). It was recorded on Nov. 4th, 2021 on an iPhone 13 Max Pro using the x3 zoom setting, 4k at 60fps, at 08:23am a couple of days ago. Since this was recorded, I’ve tried to record flocks of birds from the same point, but so far nothing looks remotely similar.
