Here is my account. In early February of 2002 (Not a typo this happened almost 20 years ago) I was on a date in a town called Angaston in South Australia. (approximate sighting location in image). We were lying on the lawn watching stars I would say approximately 2130 as the sun had not gone down that much earlier(Summer) and the moon had not risen yet. We noticed quite a few satellites that night as the visibility was excellent and light pollution low where I was.

I noticed that two satellites moving at speed were going to cross paths, something I had never seen before (and never would). They were travelling 90 degrees to each other in terms of trajectory (See sky map picture). I will refer to the two objects as red target and yellow target to differentiate in the discussion, however their colour was white light.

Once the two targets were perhaps a thumb width apart with hand outstretched directly above us, the red target coming in from the East performed a snap 90 degree turn with no deceleration and headed roughly South. It then descended and tracked SSW towards the city of Adelaide (see extended trajectory image). As it descended its luminosity increased and I believe it slowed (Unsure based on trajectory away from me). It was visible for at least another 20 minutes and we lost it as it went below the horizon towards the City.

The red target I believe to be highly reflective as it seemed to get brighter the closer to the lights of the City it got (assumption on my part). No anti collision lights were observed at any time.

The yellow target that was coming in from the North did what I would describe as a radical hook turn and sat stationary at high altitude. It didn't change its luminescence and simply blended in with the star field behind it. As the red target was still moving we watched that and lost track of the yellow target. It may have moved while we were focused on the red target, I don't know.

That's it. No visits from MIB. No visits from Elvis. No telepathy with encoded messages from Jeebus. Just the facts as best I can relay them.

You may now commence to telling me it was Starlink reflecting off the swamp gas emitted from a drone bouncing off a Chinese lantern.
