Description

Well, this happened to me in Villahermosa, Mexico, in 2006 (approx). I used to look at the sky from the roof of my parents' house, couple of times a week, mostly by night. But this time it was like 5 pm, with plenty of light, a windy and cloudy day. I raised my head and saw this red matte octahedron coming from the south, like the one showed in the attached drawing. It was flying less than 10 m (30 ft) right over the roof of the house, and it was just as big as a bicycle (1.5 m / 5 ft tall), solid red matte, no shining or detail on its surface. It moved almost at walking speed, very slowly, and from what I recall, it rotated around its vertical axis, although barely perceptible. While I was watching it, I felt shocked but very joyous, I was smiling. That thing flew right over my head; that was its closest point from me, just some 4 m (12 ft) over my head, like it was watching me back or something. You know, I didn't have a camera at that time, but even if I'd have one, I would have stayed there, watching that thing all the time I could, it even felt like a special and intimate moment. It captivated me. It was as if all I could do was watch it. The octahedron kept moving away from me, always in a straight line to the north. When the thing was like 15 m (45 ft) from me, it changed direction, another straight line, this time to the east, and I think it moved slightly faster. It almost always kept the same high respect to the ground. When the object was like 40 m (120 ft) from me, its lower part suddenly disappeared, like I illustrate in the right side of the picture. It was like it was disintegrating. The whole event lasted like 2-3 minutes. Then, something happened, I don't remember watching the moment it was gone, I lost my memory or my consciousness for a couple of seconds (or I don't know for how much time). The whole event was the weirdest thing I've experienced, and having lost my memory at the end of that was just part of the weirdness.

Since then on, I've witnessed more objects in that area, but nothing as close and clear as that.

I have 28 y/o now, I'm a physicist, and, you know, I want a logic explanation for all of this. Most of the time I think it was a hallucination; I think: "2 minutes sounds like the time a simple partial seizure lasts, and the doctors have found epileptic activity in my left temporal lobe, and probably that also explains why I lost my memory at the end". But I'm not convinced at all, I just feel there is stuff out there we are not paying the attention it deserves.

Have you seen anything that looks like that? I would like to know. Thanks a lot for reading.

TL;DR: An object in the form of a red octahedron flew 4 m (12 ft) over my head and was very close to me for 2 minutes.
