Time: Saturday, October 18, 10:16 pm

Location: Brauweiler, Germany

Shot this video from my iPhone last Saturday, Cologne area, Germany, 10:16 pm. Our son came out of bed to tell us there’s a weird helicopter outside, staying at the same spot for a prolonged period of time seemingly doing nothing. I opened up his bedroom's window to take a look outside and I was instantly surprised by the weird sound and the ultra bright colored lights of this thing. It made an oscillating flapping sound *kind of* like a helicopter moving (relatively to an observer), like a Doppler effect, but it was completely stationary, like pinned in the air. It was completely windless, too. The lights were really bright and clear, like ultra bright LEDs. There were no other visible lights than these flashing red and white lights and the permanent green light, so no headlight/searchlight. And there was no visible craft whatsoever, only the bright lights. I checked Flightradar24 and there was nothing there in my area. Based on my location and the direction I was seeing this thing I’m pretty sure it was hovering over the substation/main control line Brauweiler, which is one of the most important power grid control facilities in Europe. It stayed there for a couple of minutes and then moved slowly and steadily to the right (meaning no perceived acceleration, it just moved right from zero to x speed) behind the tree and out of my view.
