Project Blue Book claimed it was “a photo of a UFO fabricated optically. ‘Cutout drawing superimposed on a print and recopied during a scientific study about UFOs.’”

Allegedly, the image would show a real craft with six openings, like windows — no wings, no tail, nothing. The crew reportedly stated that the object matched the aircraft’s speed and then quickly moved away, like a shark, diving through the clouds… and vanished.

The photograph was said to have been taken from a C-130 flying an anti-submarine patrol out of Lajes Air Base, located on Terceira Island in the Azores archipelago (Portugal), captured during its climb, passing through 28,000 feet.
