*UFOs have appeared repeatedly in the news over the past few years. Multiple high-ranking U.S. government officials have called attention to UFOs as an outstanding mystery and security threat, and congress has convened multiple UFO-related hearings, with two happening this month alone. Reports from credible witnesses, including reports about military sensor data, suggest that a small fraction of UFOs behave in highly unusual ways. Do some UFOs represent a new class of natural phenomenon? Are they examples of highly advanced military technology, or something more exotic? This panel discussion with four experts -- two scientists, a historian, and a philosopher -- will examine the UFO as a historical and social phenomenon, and as a topic of scientific inquiry.*
