Description

United Airlines Flight 1560
SJO --> EWR
Boeing 737 Max 8
Time: 8:33 pm January 11, 2025
Location: In transit above Virginia - Carruthers Corner - right side of the aircraft facing the Atlantic
Recording Device: Samsung Galaxy S22

Object Spotted at 8:33 pm EST while my flight was passing over Carruthers Corner & Route 205 at an elevation of 36,825ft. There was another commercial aircraft (object blinking in the back) that was just across the bay, at about the same altitude or slightly higher. The object in question appeared to be slightly lower, maybe 30,000ft and below the horizon line relative to my viewpoint and the camera (you can sort of make it out in the footage)

I checked flightradar24 and could not notice anything in-between my plane and the other flight which I believe was flight FLE2631; as when I checked the tracker I noted it was heading in the same direction as my plane but on a slight angle; meanwhile the object I identified as odd remained stationary.

Reason I decide to film: I had a subtle joking thought come into my head that "Maybe there's a UFO outside" so I opened the window cover, and started looking around. This object was among the first things I spotted in the sky and noticed that it seemed kind of "off". I pulled out my phone and decided to film it - once zoomed in, the object appeared to fade away. Kept the camera rolling for about a minute, before attempting to film the screen infront of me, but remained looking out the window - nothing reappeared within the next 10 minutes of me looking out the window.
