Description

In Argentina (and other Spanish-speaking countries) the term “plato volador” was the description that became popular after Kenneth Arnold's sighting in the United States in 1947. After that, most unidentified objects that were in the air, regardless of its shape, was labeled as a plato volador by the press (not always of course).

When a Spanish-speaking person begins to delve into these topics, at first it may seem that this term has its beginning after that sighting and not before but, if one does the proper research, one discovers that this term was used before and that it has a more obscure origin.

In Argentina there was an artist (famous even today) named Benjamin Solari Parravicini (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjam%C3%ADn_Solari_Parravicini) known for his supposed psychic abilities to forecast future events.

In 1932, while drawing and painting in his studio, he began to think of spontaneous ideas, phrases and drawings that made no sense to him, which he wrote down on paper.

Parravicini, according to him under the mandate of his guardian angel, Fray José de Aragón, and other “incorporeal personalities”, made more than a thousand of this prophetic drawings (which he called premonitory psychographs). Being a Catholic, he destroyed many of these drawings because he did not believe in them.

In this context, Parravicini's work consisted of doodles and short texts that accompanied them (some related to UFOs and NHI), for example:

“The circles of lights will appear flying on the heights, bringing strange beings from other planets. Yes, they will be those who came to populate the earth, it will be said, and it will be well said. Yes! Those who were called angels in the Old Testament, or the voice of Jehovah, will be and again they will be seen, they will be seen and they will be heard”. 1938. “The seas will be invaded by beings from other worlds who will arrive in their amphibious boats. They will carry from the earth to Ganymede and its twin Europa algae, there it is needed as food. In one of his doodles dated 1938, 9 years before the Kenneth Arnold sighting, Parravicini writes the following:
