Cosmos Club MJ-12 forerunner claim — Warner's son describes a 'Cosmos Club' as a forerunner of a group like MJ-12.

In 2022, John Warner IV said that Washington's Cosmos Club, a private social club founded in 1878 for scientists and intellectuals, had served as a forerunner of a group like MJ-12, a place where senior scientists and officials could quietly discuss sensitive matters.

The Cosmos Club's members have included many Nobel laureates, presidents and senior officials, which makes it a plausible meeting place for influential people. Several people named in MJ-12 lore were members.

The claim is unverified and second-hand. It's an interesting suggestion about how informal elite networks might work, but no evidence connects the club to UFO secrecy.
