Gabe Valdez was a New Mexico State Police officer stationed in Dulce, in the Jicarilla Apache Reservation area, in the 1970s.
Cattle mutilations

Valdez investigated many cattle mutilations in northern New Mexico, especially at the ranch of Manuel Gomez near Dulce. He reported finding strange marks, radioactive readings and equipment at some sites, and came to believe a secret government operation was responsible rather than aliens. In 1979 an FBI memo relayed his claims of a cover-up. He worked with Paul Bennewitz and Linda Moulton Howe, and his cases fed the legend of a secret base under Archuleta Mesa.
