Jerome Nelson was a U.S. Air Force missile launch officer who served at Walker Air Force Base, near Roswell, New Mexico, in the 1960s, where Atlas intercontinental ballistic missiles were based in underground silos.
His account
In a later affidavit, Nelson described a glowing, round object hovering over his missile site in late 1963 or early 1964. He said the incident was reported through official channels. His account is one of several from missile crews and security guards collected by researcher Robert Hastings for his book UFOs and Nukes, describing UFOs at nuclear missile sites.
