Larry W. and the 1968 capture claim — A source says a former soldier witnessed a UAP capture in 1968.

In a letter to Leonard Stringfield dated 14 December 1980, a correspondent identified as "Larry W." said that a former classmate had told him he witnessed the "capture" of a UFO in 1968 while serving in the Army.

The account was published in Stringfield's later reports. It's at least third-hand: the witness told Larry W., who told Stringfield. No details such as the location or unit were given that would allow it to be checked, and no other source supports it.
