Tompkins's secret space program claims — Tompkins also describes alleged secret underground bases tied to a hidden space program.
In his 2015 memoir and in interviews before his death in 2017, William Tompkins described a vast hidden space program supposedly built with alien help. It included secret underground bases, Navy fleets operating in space and facilities on the Moon and elsewhere. He said he learned of these through his work as a Douglas Aircraft engineer and his contacts with Navy officers.
These claims go well beyond his Douglas documents, which deal with ordinary 1950s aerospace studies. No government records, other employees or physical evidence support the existence of the bases or fleets he described. His story became influential among promoters of "secret space program" ideas, especially through online video interviews.
The testimony includes Tompkins's claims as part of the record of what has been alleged, not as established fact. Underground military facilities certainly exist, such as NORAD's Cheyenne Mountain complex, but none has been shown to have any connection to non-human technology.
