Jacques Vallée's journals record a meeting on 11 February 1974 with Christopher "Kit" Green, a physician and scientist working for the CIA, who discussed the recent Pascagoula abduction case and official attitudes to UFOs. The meeting began a relationship documented across several volumes of Forbidden Science.[1][2]
Kit Green

Green ran the life-sciences desk in the CIA's scientific intelligence office and was later a senior analyst for the neurosciences. He left the agency in the mid-1980s for General Motors' research laboratories, and later worked as a forensic neuroimaging specialist in Detroit.[2][3]
The meeting

According to the entry, Green went straight to the October 1973 Pascagoula, Mississippi, case, including a report of a torpedo-like object that the Navy suspected might be a Soviet spying device. He said his group would be responsible for any aliens, dead or alive, but that the CIA would not run long-term research without clear proof, and that his group had wondered whether a secret UFO effort was being run within private industry.[2]
Later contacts

On 26 February 1974 Vallée arranged a temporary clearance to visit Green the following month, hoping to "better understand the chessboard". In May they met at Dulles airport, where Green said his people could find no one in the Air Force willing to talk and had been told that the Foreign Technology Division no longer worked on UFOs. In June Green introduced Vallée to members of a "Group of Twelve" of senior officials said to be interested in funding UFO research.[2][4]
Assessment
Green's CIA role is confirmed, but most of what he told Vallée about official interest cannot be checked against documents. The entries are valuable as a record of what was being said privately among scientists and intelligence officers in the 1970s.[1][2]
