Vallée on a contractor controlling the issue (2020) — Vallée says a private contractor controls the UAP issue.
In December 2020, Jacques Vallée said that the group controlling UFO research inside agencies such as the CIA was actually a private contractor, rather than a government office. The view echoes ideas he had recorded in his journals for decades, including his 2002 note that UFO research had likely been privatized.
Vallée's journals, published as Forbidden Science 6: Scattered Castles (2010–2019), describe years of conversations with insiders who pointed to contractors. He has also been involved with Stanford's Garry Nolan in analysing claimed UFO materials.
His statement is an opinion based on his experience, not documents. The idea of a contractor-held program became central to David Grusch's 2023 testimony.
