In July 2019 Tom DeLonge said that his company, To The Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences (TTSA), had spent many months briefing the U.S. Senate and congressional committees on UAP and helping connect the Pentagon, intelligence agencies and Congress.[1][2]
The claim

According to the testimony, DeLonge put the period at about 18 months. A KROQ radio interview with him, published on 17 July 2019, said the company had spent "the past 24 months" briefing the Senate and multiple committees in Congress. DeLonge has also said TTSA helped draft language in defence legislation about how UAP information should be handled, and met many members of Congress.[1][2][3]
Congressional interest

The claims came amid a sharp rise in congressional attention. In 2019 the Navy revised its guidance for pilots on reporting UAP, and on 19 June 2019 Navy officials gave a classified briefing on pilots' encounters to several senators, including Sen. Mark Warner, vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, whose office framed the issue as one of pilot safety. TTSA's Luis Elizondo and Christopher Mellon were active in reaching out to lawmakers, and the company publicised the Navy UAP videos, which the Navy confirmed in 2019 were genuine.[4][5][6]
Results

The Department of Defense set up the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force in August 2020, and Congress required a public report from the intelligence community, which was delivered on 25 June 2021. The extent of TTSA's own role in these steps rests largely on its members' statements. Elizondo left the company in late 2020.[5][6]
