Mellon's first steps as president — Christopher Mellon says what he would do first about UAP if he were president.
In a 2021 podcast interview, former intelligence official Christopher Mellon was asked what he would do first about UAP if he were president. He said he would order agencies to share their UAP data, conduct a proper investigation and make findings public as far as possible.
Mellon has campaigned for transparency on UAP since 2017, writing articles, briefing members of Congress and helping draft legislation. He has argued that UAP pose a potential national security and flight safety problem regardless of their origin.
His proposals influenced the creation of AARO in 2022 and the UAP Disclosure Act proposals of 2023. In 2024, he co-founded efforts to encourage the release of more UAP information.
