Cliff Booth was an engineer named in an account published by the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO). According to the story, in July 1950 a contractor team at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico used a tracking camera to film a cigar-shaped, metallic object flying over the test range, and gave the film to base officials.
The account
The report, passed on by APRO co-founder Coral Lorenzen, says the film was never returned or explained. Holloman was then a centre for missile and balloon testing, with high-quality tracking cameras, so it produced several films of unidentified objects in this period. Booth's role is known mainly from APRO's published account, and the film itself has never been released.
