Stefan Possony (1913–1995) was an Austrian-born American political scientist and strategist who worked as an intelligence analyst for the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s and later at Stanford's Hoover Institution. He was an early advocate of space-based missile defence.
UFO connection
In the early 1950s, Possony was involved in Air Force intelligence discussions about flying saucers, including the possibility that they were Soviet craft based on German designs. He was briefed on the subject and is mentioned in historical accounts of the Air Force's evaluation of foreign disc claims. He did not publicly support the alien hypothesis.
