The 1958 briefing
In 1958, the Air Force briefed members of Congress on how to answer constituents' questions about UFOs, as public pressure for hearings grew. Henderson took part in a House subcommittee's interest in the subject, and Air Force records show officials explaining their policies to him and his colleagues. The briefings were part of the Air Force's effort to reassure Congress that UFOs posed no threat.
