Bob Oechsler (1950–2018) was an American engineer and UFO researcher from Maryland. He claimed he had worked for NASA as a mission specialist, a description NASA did not confirm.
Research
In 1989 Oechsler recorded a phone conversation with retired Admiral Bobby Ray Inman, a former NSA director, about whether the government held recovered UFO technology; the recording is often cited as a sign that Inman knew something. Oechsler also investigated the 1987 Gulf Breeze sightings in Florida, the Cosford incident in England, and claims about secret facilities, and co-wrote Silent Invasion (1991) with Ellen Crystall. Many of his claims about his own background and sources remain unverified.
