George "Jud" Roberts was the manager and minority owner of radio station KGFL in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.
His account

In a 1991 interview, Roberts said that in July 1947 the station recorded an interview with rancher Mac Brazel, who had found the debris, but that before it could be broadcast, someone from Washington warned the station that it would lose its licence if it aired the material. Station owner Walt Whitmore Sr. had reportedly hidden Brazel overnight. Roberts's account is part of the evidence researchers use to argue that witnesses were silenced.
