In a 1993 affidavit, Zimmerman described hearing rumours at his base about a crashed flying saucer in 1947, and the security measures around radio traffic at the time. His statement is one of many collected by Roswell researchers in the early 1990s. It does not describe any first-hand sighting of debris or bodies, but it is cited as evidence that the incident was widely discussed among servicemen.
