Her 2019 book American Cosmic: UFOs, Religion, Technology argues that belief in UFOs is becoming a new form of religion, shaped by technology and media. It describes "Tyler", a scientist she says worked on the space program and handled claimed non-human artifacts, and "James", a successful researcher, later identified by others as Garry Nolan. A sequel, Encounters, appeared in 2023. Her work has made the subject of interest to academic religious studies.
